Welcome to The Center For Philanthropy

The Community Foundation of Monroe County is located in a beautiful, new facility known by many as the “Elliott Building” at 28 N. Macomb Street, Monroe, Michigan. 

The new facility has 6100-sq. ft. of space with a large spacious conference room and adjacent parking.  With this move we remained in downtown Monroe, which provides continuity for our donors, and the community we serve.

The Board of Trustees had the vision to create a Center For Philanthropy to be housed in the new facility as part of the Community Foundation of Monroe County.  The Center For Philanthropy is an unbiased entity where non-profits, professionals, donors and the community can go to discuss, collect information and take action related to their philanthropic interests.  Some ideas of the support that is envisioned include:

      For non-profits – provide a clearinghouse for materials, provide seminars and workshops, provide meeting space, and lease space to area non-profits at reduced cost

      For professionals – provide neutral meeting space, assist with unbiased response to philanthropic questions, provide related materials, help with professional’s clients needs, and assist with clearer understanding of workings of the philanthropic world

      For donors and the community – Provide neutral meeting space, be an unbiased source of information, assist in establishing charitable goals, assist with estate planning, provide insight into non-profits, and connect donors to non-profits.

Through the Center For Philanthropy, the Community Foundation will provide a valuable service and resource not presently in Monroe County.  The Community Foundation of Monroe County would like generous spirited individuals like you to be counted among the partners in the Center For Philanthropy.  Please feel free to contact us for any of you or your agencies philanthropic needs.
