On behalf of the Board of Trustees and Staff of the Community Foundation thank you for your continued support. The Community Foundation continues to inspire individuals, families, organizations and businesses to create permanent charitable funds to help our community meet the challenges of changing times. We seek to find ways to increase our impact on improving the quality of life in our wonderful Monroe County.
As we move forward, we are concentrating on the measure that matters, our impact not our asset size. We define ourselves by taking a more active role in our community by:
Being a community partner, creating a better future for all, uniting people and producing significant results.
We had several opportunities this year to exercise the above principles through collaborations:
- Established a partnership with the Monroe Health Plan with an endowed fund for $1,150,000 which allowed us to award grants to Monroe Center for Healthy Aging and ProMedica to improve the health of our community.
- We received $100,000 from the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation allowing us to award a grant for $35,000 to our local high schools and the Learning Bank to enhance post secondary education in Monroe County.
- We received a grant from the Michigan Health Endowment Fund to award $175,000 in grants to the YMCA, Goodwill Industries, MCOP, and the Monroe County Health Department.
- We awarded additional scholarships and grants this year.
Once again, thank you. We encourage you to consider donating this year and/or inquire how we can work together to accomplish your charitable goals. We are here to support you in your philanthropic efforts.
